Bomb scare at parade.......

Message from our commissioners

Washington has a long and proud history of eliminating and preventing discrimination through the vigorous enforcement of civil rights laws and outreach activities in our communities. The events of this past Monday during Spokane’s Martin Luther King, Jr. parade, reminds us, that while we have made progress toward fulfilling the dream of equality, much work still remains. Vestiges of hate, intolerance and bigotry persist despite our best efforts to remove it from our communities. We must, therefore, be steadfast in our resolve to carry the dream forward by collectively condemning such acts of hate whenever and wherever they occur.
