Reaching Out to Customers With Disabilities An online ADA course for businesses from the U.S. Department of Justice

DOJ ON-LINE COURSE ON REACHING THE DISABILITY MARKET: The U.S. Department of Justice's Disability Rights Section's has an online course for businesses, “Reaching Out to Customers with Disabilities,” The course explains how the ADA applies to businesses in ten short lessons. Putting these lessons into practice enables businesses to both comply with the ADA and attract the disability market. The course is at http://www.ada.gov/reachingout/intro1.htm

Police Response to People with Disabilities, Eight-Part Series - Designed for use in roll-call training, this videotape addresses law enforcement situations involving people who have mobility disabilities, mental illnesses, mental retardation, epilepsy or seizure disorders, speech disabilities, deafness or hard of hearing, and blindness or low vision.

Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST

HUD launched Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST (Fair Housing Instruction, Resources, Support, Technical Guidance) in 2003 to provide training and technical guidance to architects, builders, developers, and others on the design and construction requirements of the Fair Housing Act. FIRST consists of a comprehensive training curriculum that is accredited by the American Institute of Architects, a website (http://www.fairhousingfirst.org), and a Design and Construction Resource Center (1-888-341-7781) that architects and others can contact for expert assistance with design questions.
