Contact the Washington State Human Rights Commission

Be advised: any information and documents that you submit to the Human Rights Commission (Commission) are subject to public records laws and will be available to anyone who requests them. This includes medical and other types of private records. Therefore, it is in your best interest not to submit anything unless requested by an investigator.


Filing a Complaint involving Housing

Please call us at (800) 233-3247 and select 4 when prompted or email us at frontdesk@hum.wa.gov

Filing a Complaint involving Employment, Public Accommodation, Credit, or Insurance

Review the HRC’s jurisdiction and, if you feel that your complaint meets the requirements, download the Complaint Form that matches the nature of your complaint and return all five (5) completed pages to us by email, fax or mail:

  • Email a signed and completed form to frontdesk@hum.wa.gov
  • Fax a signed and completed form to (360) 586-2282.
    • Make sure all double-sided pages are scanned.
  • Mail a signed and completed form to our Olympia office:
