What to Include
Include the following so that we can respond or contact you to ask for clarification if necessary:
- Your name, address, and telephone number or email address.
- A description of the record(s) requested.
- Your request must be for a specific, identifiable record or series of records as defined by the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56). Please include all information that could help fulfill this request, including specific details about the record(s) you are requesting (e.g., key terms, titles, names, subjects, or document categories). Limiting your request may speed up processing time and reduce any associated fees (charged in accordance with WAC 162-04-037).
How long will it take?
Within five business days of receiving the request, the commission will respond and either:
- Make the requested record(s) available;
- Make a portion of the records available in installments as they are assembled;
- Deny the request; or
- Acknowledge the request and provide a reasonable estimate of time needed to respond.
